ADDING YOUR BUSINESS

Adding your business to Trial Directory is extremely straightforward and will only take a few minutes, but this guide will take you step by step through the process. Do take your time and think about how you are going to position your business to the public. A well-presented and professional approach will drive more traffic and hopefully more sales! To create your business entry you will need to provide:

  • Business Name

  • Website address.

  • Business Type – Select the option that MOST applies to your business. You can provide more in depth categories that cover the products and services you provide later.

  • Keywords – Type in some keywords, separated by commas that are related to your business activities. You can put individual brand names in here if desired. For example if you are a dealer for Sherco, Beta and Gas Gas then enter Sherco,Beta,Gas Gas with commas between (but no spaces between keywords). This field is used as part of the customer search so it’s important you enter the correct words, but you can always come back at any time and add/change or remove keywords. Do NOT put in keywords for brands that you do not supply or deal with.

  • Business Short Description – This should be a short and snappy summary of your business, no more than a couple of sentences. This field is used as part of the customer search. This field MUST NOT contain links or details on individual products, offers or events. Entries abusing this field will be removed.

  • Business Description – This should be a longer and more comprehensive overview of your business that is displayed on the business details page. This field is used as part of the customer search so ensure it provides plenty information for potential customers. You can put as much (or as little!) information as you want in here. This field MUST NOT contain links, offers or events. Entries abusing this field will be removed.

  • Business Classification – This is different from the Business Type selected previously and allows you to be more specific as to the areas of your business. The number of categories you can select is dependent on your selected package. Free listings may only select one category, whereas Platinum can select up to ten categories. This field is used as part of the customer search.

  • Main Category – This allows you to select your PRIMARY line of business from the categories you selected above. For example if you selected Trials Parts, Trials Clothing and New Trials Bikes, but your Primary business is New Trials Bikes then you should select that as the Primary Category (it will all make sense as you go through it!) This field is used as part of the customer search.

  • Opening Hours – This is optional, but can be useful to potential customers to know when you are contactable.

  • Break Hours – Again, this is optional, but you can, for example put in lunch hours if your business is closed during those periods.

  • Business Location – This is straightforward. Input your business address and check the Google Map displayed on the page is correct before proceeding. All address fields are used as part of the customer search and you can also input the region or area you will provide coverage for (leave blank for worldwide). Note that businesses using the free Bronze package will not show on the main site map.

  • Business Telephone – Straightforward

  • Mobile Phone – Optional, but can be input if required

  • Email – Straightforward, but should be a generic contact email address for your business. Note that an onlione contact form, allowing customers to contact you directly from your listing, is only available with the Gold & Platinum packages.

  • Contact Person – This is optional, but if you have multiple departments (e.g. parts and service) then you can put individual contacts in here.

  • Social Networks – Straightforward. Input the links to your various social media pages here, if applicable. Note that links to Social Media pages are only available with the Gold and Platinum packages.

  • Add Logo – Upload your business logo. We can help resize this if it’s not the correct size/dimensions or looks distorted when published. Use the Support link (visible when logged in) for help. Note, company logo is only available with Silver, Gold and Platinum packages.

  • Business Cover Image – you can optionally upload an image that will be used as the background to your full business listing. Note, cover image is only available with Silver, Gold and Platinum packages.

  • Business Pictures – You can optionally upload a number of pictures to represent your business e.g. your showroom or shop if applicable. How many images you may upload is dependent on the package selected.

  • Business Videos – You can optionally upload a number of pictures to represent your business. How many videos you may upload is dependent on the package selected.

  • Attachments – You can optionally upload any attachments you wish, e.g. bike manuals, product brochures, parts lists etc. How many attachments you may upload is dependent on the package selected.

That’s it! It may seem long, but it only takes a few minutes and a lot of the requested information is optional. Of course, you can come back and change or add information at any time. We would recommend setting up your business listing and then trying some searches as a customer to make sure your business is being represented as you wish for the products/offerings you want to be found for and then fine tuning your entry to suit.

OFFERS & EVENTS

Businesses choosing the Gold or Platinum Packages have the ability to add special offers and events – how many of each can be active at any one time is dependent on the package chosen. Both are very simple to set up with options to do so on your user menu once logged in and your package has been paid for. Offers and events will appear both on the front page of the website and within your business listing. UPDATE: Offers added to Gold & Platinum listings are now automatically pulled from this site and displayed within the Trials Central Forums and also on the front page and news article pages of Trials Central ensuring maximum coverage.

Offers can be generic or for specific products or services, have start and end dates applied and you have the ability to publish a coupon code for use on your website if applicable. Note you do not have to put your business address in again.

Events can be used to promote Open Days, Test Days or Training Days. These will appear both on the front page of the website and within your business listing. You do not have to input your business address again, however if you are adding a Training or Test day and it is not held at your business premises then it would be advisable to input the actual address of the venue.
